Introducing Nimbus

Jul 01, 2026Bim Blake

NEOZ has launched Nimbus, a new cordless table lamp designed to elevate the dining experience through light, form and atmosphere.

Created for restaurants, hotels, and private interiors, Nimbus casts a focused pool of light that draws attention to the table while preserving the intimacy of the surrounding space. Its distinctive halo effect softly reflects light around the base, extending warmth across the tabletop and drawing focus toward the interactions taking place there. A polished chrome finish adds a sculptural quality, capturing and reflecting its surroundings with subtle elegance.

With a low profile, slender stem and gently domed shade, Nimbus maintains a clear sightline between guests. Practical enough for the demands of hospitality and refined enough to complete the table, Nimbus is designed to feel as considered as the experience it illuminates.

A Halo of Light at the Dining Table

One of Nimbus’s defining details is the soft halo that forms around the base. The curvature of the body reflects and concentrates light downward, grounding the lamp while gently extending its presence across the table surface.

Rather than lighting the wider room, this effect draws attention back to the table, creating a more intimate focus for dining and conversation.

Like many NEOZ designs, Nimbus sits quietly in a space while subtly shaping how it feels. Proportion, material quality and controlled illumination are what allow a cordless portable lamp to adapt across settings, from contemporary restaurants and hotel bars to private dining rooms and homes. For operators and designers specifying lighting across multiple covers, the cordless format also removes the practical constraints of cable routing without compromising on finish quality or design intent.

A Sculptural Portable Lamp for Restaurants and Homes

Nimbus was designed for both hospitality and residential spaces. Its proportions are simple but carefully resolved: a broad base anchors the lamp, a narrow stem creates a sense of lift, and the domed shade completes the form with a gentle, protective curve.

Viewed from the table, the lamp has a continuous quality, almost as though the shape could extend upward or downward beyond the object itself. The restrained height keeps it practical for real dining environments without softening that sculptural character.

For restaurants and bars, this balance matters. A portable table lamp needs to contribute to the atmosphere without interrupting service, conversation or the arrangement of glassware and shared dishes. Nimbus is designed to sit within that space as a finishing touch, not an obstacle.

Chrome Finishes That Reflect the Rooms

Nimbus is finished in polished chrome plating, available in silver and gold. The reflective surface shifts with its surroundings, mirroring the textures, colours and movement around it. In a dining environment, this makes the lamp feel more integrated with the table, catching fragments of glassware, timber, stone and light as the atmosphere changes.

The finish brings a jewellery-like quality to the object: polish and refinement without decorative detailing, allowing form and material to do the work.

That restraint also serves the practical demands of hospitality. Clean, wipeable lines and hard-wearing finishes make Nimbus suitable for daily commercial use and more intimate residential settings alike, from hotel dining rooms and restaurant tables to private interiors where the quality of light at the table matters as much as the objects around it.
