The Gem Round Resin is a NEOZ collaboration with Dinosaur Designs, the Australian studio known the world over for its work in resin. First designed in 2000, it is crafted by hand in the Blue Mountains from solid polyester resin, then hand-polished to a smooth, gem-like finish, in a softly rounded cylinder that reads, in amber especially, like a glowing pillar candle.

Unlike NEOZ's hollow glass lamps, the Gem is solid, so the light glows through the mass of the resin itself for a depth and warmth glass cannot match. It comes in two colourways: opal, a soft milky white, and amber, a rich honeyed glow close to candlelight. Each is poured and polished by hand, so no two are ever quite the same.

Rated IP64, it is dust-tight and resistant to splashing water, so it moves easily from an indoor table to a terrace or poolside. Like every NEOZ lamp, the Gem Round Resin is fully serviceable, with every part user replaceable including the battery, light source and resin body.

Where NEOZ's glass lamps are hollow diffusers, the Gem is a solid block of hand-poured polyester resin, so the light glows through the mass of the material itself and gives it a depth and warmth that glass cannot. The rounded cylinder wraps that glow smoothly all the way around, with no edges to interrupt it. It comes in two colourways: opal, a soft milky white, and amber, a rich honeyed glow close to candlelight. Each piece is poured and polished by hand, so no two are ever quite the same.

Rated IP64, the Gem Round Resin is dust-tight and resistant to splashing water from any direction, so it moves easily from an indoor table to a terrace or poolside. It is in service in settings as refined as Amanyara in the Turks and Caicos Islands, where its soft, glowing cylinder brings a relaxed, ambient warmth to open-air dining by the water. Like any electrical product, it is not intended to be submerged.

Your Gem Round Resin is made to move, which is exactly why operators asked us to help them keep it close. The Cordless Lamp Lock secures it to the table itself. A low-profile plate fixes discreetly to the surface, the lamp locks on with a single press, and a dedicated key releases it. No tools, no brackets, and nothing a guest would ever notice.

It lets you place cordless light where you could not before. Outdoor terraces, bar tops and street-facing tables can carry your Gem Round Resin with the confidence it will still be there tomorrow. The Cordless Lamp Lock is made from 75% post-consumer recycled polycarbonate.

How is the Gem Round Resin different from the Gem Square Resin?

They are the same design in two forms, sharing the same Dinosaur Designs collaboration, the same solid hand-poured resin and the same opal and amber colourways. The Gem Round Resin is a smooth cylinder with a soft, candle-like profile, while the Gem Square Resin is a crisp rectangular block. The choice comes down to whether you prefer a rounded or a squared form.

What is the difference between the opal and amber?

Both are the same solid resin, coloured throughout. Opal is a soft, milky white that gives a gentle, neutral glow and suits almost any setting. Amber is a rich, honeyed tone that glows warmly, close to candlelight, for a more intimate, atmospheric feel. Both are available with either the standard warm white LED or the optional warm candle LED.

Can the Gem Round Resin be used outdoors?

Yes. It carries an IP64 rating, meaning it is dust-tight and resistant to splashing water from any direction, which suits open-air dining, terraces and poolside settings. It is splash-resistant rather than waterproof, so like any electrical product it is not intended to be submerged.

How long does the Gem Round Resin run, and how is it charged?

It uses NEOZ's N1 engine, giving up to 17.5 hours of light on high and around 55 hours on low, from a charge of about 3.5 hours, with brightness set by a touch of the base across three levels. It ships with an N1 Charging Base that includes AU, UK, EU and USA wall plugs.

Is the Gem Round Resin serviceable and compatible with NEOZ charging and security systems?

Yes. Every major part is user replaceable, including the battery, light source and resin body, and NEOZ offers repairs and servicing. It works with all NEOZ charging systems, and it is compatible with the Cordless Lamp Lock, which applies to lamps whose serial number begins with L, for example LA1234.
